In the third quarter of 2024, the top communication apps in Greece showed varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users, according to Sensor Tower data.

WhatsApp Messenger saw a steady increase in weekly downloads, reaching a peak of around 28.4K in mid-August, before experiencing a slight decline towards the end of the quarter. Its active users also followed a similar trend, starting at approximately 1.74M in early July and decreasing to about 1.56M by the end of September.

Messenger from Meta Platforms, Inc. maintained stable active user numbers, fluctuating slightly around 2.8M throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads were fairly consistent, with a notable peak of 20.1K in early August. Revenue showed a downward trend, starting at $148 and dropping to $25 by the end of September.

Rakuten Viber Messenger experienced a significant increase in revenue, peaking at about $7.2K in mid-September. Downloads remained relatively stable, with a slight peak of 20.9K in early August. Active users showed a positive trend, starting at 4.86M and reaching approximately 5.08M by the end of the quarter.
